Coyote Midstream is led by a seasoned management team with more than 100 combined years of oil and gas management experience. Based in Salt Lake City, Coyote’s core focus is the design, engineering and operation of crude oil, gas, and water logistics assets for producers and refiners.   Members of the team have originated, led or been involved in multiple billion-dollar midstream greenfield and brownfield construction and retrofitting projects both domestically and internationally.

Michael Duffy

Managing Partner & CEO

Mr. Duffy has commercial and business development responsibilities.

With more than 30 years experience in the energy industry. Mr. Duffy founded his own consulting and marketing company working with large MLPs, Management & Financial Advisory Firms, and Private Equity backed firms.  Has worked for private, public and companies operating in a restructuring environment such as ONEOK, DCP Midstream, Bridger Logistics, SemStream and NGL Energy Partners. Held Senior Vice President Logistics & Commercial Development, Vice President of Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions and Vice President of Logistics and Marketing positions.  In these roles, Mr. Duffy was responsible for strategy, budgeting, commercial and financial management of assets, marketing and logistic teams.

Mr. Duffy developed the first two NGL unit train terminals in the United States, managed rail logistics groups with over 1,400 rail cars, both leased and owned, and had commercial responsibility for over 24 rail terminals (Truck-to-Rail, Pipeline-to-Rail, Rail-to-Truck and transload). Mr. Duffy has also been commercially responsible for large underground NGL salt storage facilities and fractionators.

This experience has brought strong relationships with producers, transportation, midstream and refinery companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Mr. Duffy holds a Masters’ degree in Finance and a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Les Patterson

Partner

Mr. Patterson has three decades of construction and management experience in the domestic and international oil and gas industries. His experience spans operations, construction, business development, corporate strategy, and health, safety and environmental concerns in onshore and offshore projects. Units under his management have recorded zero reportable health, safety and environmental incidents.

Mr. Patterson has managed the development, construction and commencement of operations of major capital projects for BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, Tesoro, Sinclair, Pemex, Kennecott, and Delta Airlines, among others. He previously worked as Senior Vice President of Pipelines & Terminals for Bridger Logistics, the midstream division of Ferrellgas Partners, LP (NYSE: FGP), where he independently led, developed and managed three of the company’s seven business units (pipelines, terminals, and saltwater disposal) to consistent profitability through multiple management teams and large-scale M&A transactions. Prior to Bridger, Mr. Patterson was a senior operations manager at EMS, an oilfield services firm. Prior to EMS, he worked as the head of business development for STARCON International, an oilfield services firm, and as a senior project manager for TEPSCO and CEntry Constructors.

Otis Randle

Director of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance 

Mr. Randle has three decades of environmental regulatory and safety experience with State and Federal agencies as well as the oil and gas industry. His experience includes PHMSA regulations, EPA regulations, OSHA compliance, State and local environmental agencies in states where he operated, oil and gas storage and terminals, truck and transloading facilities and saltwater disposal facilities. He is also responsible for personnel health, safety compliance and training.

Mr. Randle was Regional Manager for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality with 22 years of service. His duties included management of Air Quality, Water Quality, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Underground Storage Tanks and Radiation Protection. After retiring from the State of Louisiana, Mr. Randle was Vice President of Environmental Safety and Regulatory compliance with Bridger Environmental. While at Bridger, he was responsible for maintaining environmental and regulatory compliance at all of the crude and saltwater facilities.

Lyle Millham

Legal Counsel 

Lyle has practiced law for more than 20 years.  He has more than five years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Coyote and with The Williams Companies in their Northwest Pipeline Group.  Lyle has served a combined nine years as general counsel to several commercial entities in oil and gas, employment services, and the food and beverage industries.  

Lyle is a graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah where he participated on Law Review and graduated in the top third of his class.  Lyle spends his spare time coaching high school football and playing golf with family and friends.

Scott Todd

Director of Marketing

An Accomplished Marketing Director: With over 30 years of diverse industry experience, Scott is an accomplished marketing director with a proven track record of success. His journey spans management roles in the construction industry, extensive North American sales and exclusive knowledge in the oil industry.

Construction to Cutting-Edge: Scott’s career began in the construction industry, where he spent over two decades, contributing to the management of projects for a firm that has surpassed 60 million square feet of construction and $5 billion in total construction costs. His versatile marketing skills have also touched the oil industry, where he’s designed proprietary marketing systems that offer a unique edge.

The Passion Behind the Professional: Beyond his professional life, Scott is a devoted family man who values quality time with loved ones. He’s also a competitive motocross racer at the masters level, an avid surfer, and a daring big mountain skier, bringing a unique vitality to everything he does. As the Director of Marketing for our company, Scott leads the way in crafting cutting-edge, tailored marketing strategies, ensuring your brand’s success in today’s dynamic business landscape.
