Coyote Midstream is led by a seasoned management team with more than 100 combined years of oil and gas management experience. Based in Salt Lake City, Coyote’s core focus is the design, engineering and operation of crude oil, gas, and water logistics assets for producers and refiners. Members of the team have originated, led or been involved in multiple billion-dollar midstream greenfield and brownfield construction and retrofitting projects both domestically and internationally.
Michael Duffy
Managing Partner & CEO
Mr. Duffy has commercial and business development responsibilities.
With more than 35 years experience in the energy industry. Mr. Duffy founded his own consulting and marketing company working with large MLPs, Management & Financial Advisory Firms, and Private Equity backed firms. Has worked for private, public and companies operating in a restructuring environment such as ONEOK, DCP Midstream, Bridger Logistics, SemStream and NGL Energy Partners. Held Senior Vice President Logistics & Commercial Development, Vice President of Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions and Vice President of Logistics and Marketing positions. In these roles, Mr. Duffy was responsible for strategy, budgeting, commercial and financial management of assets, marketing and logistic teams.
Mr. Duffy developed the first two NGL unit train terminals in the United States, managed rail logistics groups with over 1,400 rail cars, both leased and owned, and had commercial responsibility for over 24 rail terminals (Truck-to-Rail, Pipeline-to-Rail, Rail-to-Truck and transload). Mr. Duffy has also been commercially responsible for large underground NGL salt storage facilities and fractionators.
This experience has brought strong relationships with producers, transportation, midstream and refinery companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Mr. Duffy holds a Masters’ degree in Finance and a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Les Patterson
Partner
Mr. Patterson has three decades of construction and management experience in the domestic and international oil and gas industries. His experience spans operations, construction, business development, corporate strategy, and health, safety and environmental concerns in onshore and offshore projects. Units under his management have recorded zero reportable health, safety and environmental incidents.
Mr. Patterson has managed the development, construction and commencement of operations of major capital projects for BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, Tesoro, Sinclair, Pemex, Kennecott, and Delta Airlines, among others. He previously worked as Senior Vice President of Pipelines & Terminals for Bridger Logistics, the midstream division of Ferrellgas Partners, LP (NYSE: FGP), where he independently led, developed and managed three of the company’s seven business units (pipelines, terminals, and saltwater disposal) to consistent profitability through multiple management teams and large-scale M&A transactions. Prior to Bridger, Mr. Patterson was a senior operations manager at EMS, an oilfield services firm. Prior to EMS, he worked as the head of business development for STARCON International, an oilfield services firm, and as a senior project manager for TEPSCO and CEntry Constructors.
Kory Kehl
Fractional VP of Information & Data Security
Kory Kehl brings over a decade of enterprise software engineering and systems architecture experience to Coyote Midstream’s data and technology security practice. As a Senior Computer Scientist at Adobe, he architects and secures platforms handling hundreds of thousands of users, with deep expertise in authentication systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker), and full-stack application security across Java, Node.js, and modern web technologies.
Kory has led cross-functional engineering teams at companies including Adobe, ReliaQuest, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he built secure enterprise systems, drove performance optimization, and modernized legacy architectures. His hands-on experience spans identity and access management, API security, database security across SQL and NoSQL platforms, and DevOps pipeline hardening.
At Coyote Midstream, Kory oversees information security strategy, data protection, and technology risk management — ensuring the company’s systems and data remain secure as operations scale.
Kory holds a Bachelor of Science from Utah Valley University and is based in Utah.
Mike Green
In-House General Counsel
Coyote Midstream is pleased to welcome Michael Kelvin Green as its new General Counsel. Michael brings deep energy-sector legal experience paired with a strong government affairs and regulatory background — a combination well matched to the legal and policy demands of a growing midstream company operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Energy Sector Legal Experience
Michael most recently served as Senior Corporate Counsel at ZEO Energy Corp., managing corporate litigation, outside counsel relationships, and compliance across the company’s energy operations. He previously served as Assistant General Counsel at Lumio Hx, overseeing regulatory litigation and risk management in the renewable energy sector. Earlier, as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah, he advised the Governor’s Energy Advisor and the Utah State Treasurer’s Office on the State Money Management Council and broader state energy policy matters. His litigation background at Cowdell & Woolley, P.C. included eminent domain and real estate development matters directly relevant to right-of-way, easement, and land access issues central to midstream pipeline and infrastructure operations.
Government Affairs & Legislative Experience
Michael has extensive experience in governmental affairs, legislative advocacy, and public policy development, working at the intersection of law, policy, and government operations to advise state and local officials, agencies, and policymakers on complex regulatory matters. He has drafted, reviewed, and negotiated legislation, administrative rules, and municipal ordinances, and served as city representative to the Legislative Policy Committee of the Utah League of Cities and Towns and to the Jordan River Commission. As a member of the Draper City Council since 2022, including as Mayor Pro Tem, he has chaired the Redevelopment Agency and served on the Emergency Preparedness Committee, giving him direct experience navigating land use, zoning, and regulatory approval processes that intersect with infrastructure development. He also served as a Special Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County and as counsel to the Utah Medicaid Inspector General, where he prosecuted matters involving fraud, waste, and abuse.
Military Service
Michael is a Captain and Battalion Judge Advocate (JAG) in the Utah Army National Guard’s 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), with over 22 years of service, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan. He is a graduate of The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School’s Basic and Advanced Military Justice Courses and holds a Top-Secret SCI security clearance.

Michael holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, a Master’s degree in Political Science from Utah State University, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, where he was a Hinckley Institute of Politics fellow in Washington, D.C. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Utah and California Supreme Courts, the U.S. District Court for Utah, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
